Hullo everyone! Newbie forum member here.

So, I accept the opportunity to buy a new Classic Actor 50'southward 60th Anniversary for $ 799 (commemorative hard case included). The reason for being $200 bucks less than its average cost is due a ding on the horn of the strat torso (see pictures).

Since I don't accept to opportunity to attempt out this guitar or whatever classic player in a music store where I live (Brazil), I would similar to ask for your opinion on this bargain.

Is this guitar really good? The primary difference, besides aesthetics, from the regular Classic Thespian is the nitro finish on both neck and body. It does sound amazing to me (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKC-RJPygjY).

Are in that location any CP50'due south owners here that want to share your thoughts and feelings?

Cheers in advance!!! :)

From what I've read people only have proficient things to say well-nigh them. They seem extremely adept value for money. I take a Baja tele which is from the same "custom designed" stable. And it really is an excellent sounding and playing guitar. Haven't tried the CP strats but they must be equally expert. That ding does look a scrap nasty though. Looks equally if it's going to flake abroad like an eggshell leaving the bare woods underneath. That of form is the trouble with a poly body. But it's going to be great player....if y'all can attempt and live with the ding.....it will probably get more. Skillful luck

They have a nitro body, not poly (if that'south what yous mean). I do hold that the ding is quite nasty. I hope the ding stops over at that place!

I would become it, to play information technology. If you will play the guitar, you will get more than ding on it. I have worst ding on my guitar and it still play great.

Hello all, can I only chime in as a newbie member. I bought i of these final week (deplorable no pics yet), I accept to say it's the most aesthetically pleasing guitar, of whatever blazon I have always seen. Furthermore, the best Stratocaster I have ever owned, although I'k somewhat restricted, as I've only ever endemic 1 other, a MIM standard which is notwithstanding stock. The guitar itself plays amazingly well, and the cervix is really prissy to play. The pups are really nice too, with great tones on both clean dirty channels, all in all a beautiful Strat and worth every penny spent, a keeper for certain. However the on in the motion picture posted past the OP, I would leave information technology where it is, unless a lot more is discounted from the price. That'south not only a ding, that looks like it's been attacked by a beaver on happy tablets!

The archetype thespian series is 1 of the best bang for the buck deal....great pro level guitars the easily concur their own against much more expensive guitars.Just know that the nitro finish is easily prone to relic'ing (which is a desirable thing for some players)so exist certain you are absurd with that.

Hello all, tin I just chinkle in equally a newbie fellow member. I bought one of these last week (deplorable no pics yet), I take to say it'due south the nearly aesthetically pleasing guitar, of any blazon I have always seen. Furthermore, the all-time Stratocaster I accept e'er owned, although I'm somewhat restricted, equally I've only e'er owned 1 other, a MIM standard which is notwithstanding stock. The guitar itself plays amazingly well, and the neck is really nice to play. Hahahahaha...LOL. It looks like a beaver bite, indeed. Will call back more about it and ask for a better price.

And yes, Sonny Wolf, the relic end is appealing to my optics. I'one thousand very into vintage stuff.

Actually I'yard very undecided betwixt CP 60's in Sunburst and the CP fifty's (including the 60th anniversary i). What are your thoughts about information technology?

The point in favour of the guitar I posted pictures are the nitro finish, the example included, and the fact that it is a limited edition. It's squeamish to call up that my beginning Fender Strat was purchased in the commemorative year of 60th ceremony of strat. And that's the model jubilant this.

Merely since I live in Brazil, unfortunately I don't have the opportunity of trying them in a local music store.

If yous buy it, do something well-nigh "sealing" the scar so that it doesn't spread. A slice of tape painted to torso color, perhaps, or a removeable sticker.

If you lot get out information technology, the edges will catch on things and tear away more of the finish.

So that guitar is nitro.....not poly. I am amazed.

And what you think about it? Does information technology brand a practiced bargain for this guitar!? This guitar is priced in $999 on musiciansfriend, guitar center, sweetwater, and so on.

Ane off-topic question:

Where do you guys get discount coupons ?? The forum department about discounts is out-of-date.

$799 is a good toll, and I wouldn't worry near the ding at all. If your intention is to play information technology and not keep it nether the bed, I says merely buy information technology. You will definitely get more ding and scratch one time you play information technology.

I'll certainly play it. Like A LOT.

Encounter, I was under the impression that the Archetype 50s strats had a nitro finish laquer simply not the classic player models.....maybe the 60 th anniversary were differnt. Sorry to get on merely the ding on that lower tour looks like poly. IMHO nitro finish guitars don't cutting up like that.
  • #xx
I have no idea on how to tell the difference between nitro and poly just by dings
